We take great pride in 100% customer satisfaction. If for any reason, you're not satisfied with your purchase, we've outlined the following guidelines to help make your return a smooth and seamless experience:
- You may return your unused item in its original condition and packaging within 7 days of receipt.
- Please contact Haussmann Support at firstname.lastname@example.org to request a return.
- Unless your item is received damaged, or there was some error on our part, you will be responsible for all return shipping costs. There may be additional shipping and handling fees for items that have free outbound shipping.
- Because refunds will not be issued in full for items damaged in return shipping or returns that are never received, we highly recommend that you insure all return shipments and provide Houzz Support with the shipment tracking number.
Natural exotic wood products have variations in texture and finish color. This is due to the underlying natural wood tones, viewable through the translucent oil.
There will be visible marks from carving, patches from repairs, knot holes, natural inclusions, and worm holes.
There will be various separations or cracks on your piece when it arrives. These naturally occurred as the wood was dried. Over time, some continued shrinkage may accentuate existing separations or generate new ones. This does not compromise the structural performance or integrity of the wood and is considered inherent to the natural beauty of the design.
Products are natural and handmade. Sizes are just an approximation. Products are not perfectly square or flat, but are useable and reasonably flat.
We use the same wood to fill in worm holes and larger separations but we do not fill in or repair carving marks, or natural inclusions like knots and branch growths. We sand to blend them to smooth edges and surfaces that are useable.
Wood from a tropical climate is still alive. It will change over time based on a new climate, and if you place the piece in direct sunlight, or by a heating or cooling source, small cracks will appear but will stop occurring over time.
The color will vary from the pictures depicted for every piece. The oil is the same color tone but the underlying wood color of the piece it is going on varies.
In all of these tropical woods, mold blooms that create dark stains are natural.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Cleaning is best accomplished by using warm lightly soapy water. Use of a dishwashing soap with a citrus base is best. Simply wipe the item with a wetted damp rag and then wipe dry with an absorbent dry towel. To maintain luster use a spray on furniture polish like Lemon Pledge.
Direct exposure in the sun light will cause the oil to fade due to UV rays. Over time the oiled surface can be refreshed by cleaning and then applying a light coat of neutral natural wood oil.
Livos oils are from natural plant chemistry and are water resistant and food safe surfaces.
Note: Natural wood with natural finishes packed in cardboard boxes may develop surface mold due to air moisture and contact between cardboard and wood. The wood is a natural heat sink and warms and cools creating moisture inside the box. The wet cardboard causes surface mold to form occasionally.
After removing from the cartons simply clean as above. The piece will adjust to its new climate and stabilize over time and the surface mold will stop forming.
The handcrafted touch of artisan skill creates variations in color, size and design. If buying two of the same item, slight differences should be expected. Note: Color discrepancies may occur between this product and your computer screen.
